MITCH'S NEWS
Sorry Alex, but I'm going to tell the world about one of PS2's coming games: Astro Boy. He's being published by Sega and Sonic Team, and I always keep up on what they do! Anyway, Astro Boy is an OLD manga comic written by the legendary Osamu Tezuka, who inspired millions of manga artists. It was old shows and comics like Astro Boy that made Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z so popular in Canada and US.
Anyway, it's about a robot kid sporting nothing but rocket boots and underwear, taking on monsters in Metro City, a futuristic city, but it looks and feels like the 60s. If that wants to make you puke, listen up. THIS GAME IS INTENSE! You can actually fly millions of feet in the air to land on a plane that looks like a dot from the ground. From there, you can see everywhere you can go! THIS CITY IS HUGE! This is going to promote a ton of playtime.
For all you nintendo guys who thinks PS2 sucks, well you are in luck! Astro Boy is coming to GBA to recollect his games on the Super Nintendo! This is going to be insane. Sure he looks REALLY weird, but trust me, it looks and plays like a dream. Get Astro Boy, and get ready for the time of your life! (cheezy ending;)

ALEX'S NEWS
So, GTA fans (well who's not) there is 2 new GTAs coming out. It's for sure that GTA San Adreas is next in line, then it's Sin City. There is also the PSP (playstation Portable) coming out at the beginning of 2005.
If you like Splinter Cell (amasing game) there's SC: Pandora Tomorrow coming out in May. There's going to be a multiplayer mode, online for PS2 and Xbox (sorry gamecube), and more gadgets. The levels are better, more open-ended, so there are more ways to do a mission.
Final Fantasy XI. what can I say, if you can aford it, this game is going to blow your mind away. It's a 100$ for the game it comes with the HDD (hard drive disk), 13$ per month, 1$ more per month for every extra character, 1$ more per month if you sign up for PlayOnline. 50$ for the network adapter, and about 40 for a descent USB keyboard (the games crap without one). But the game is amasing. It's different every month with all the updates you get. You get to customise your character and also your job at higher levels. Your starter jobs are: Warrior, Monk, Thief, White Mage, Black Mage, and Red Mage.
The characters are Hume (as in humain), Galka (big and strong), Elvan (tall, dark, and surly), Tarutaru (little magical guys), and mithra (cats).
For all of you PS2 lovers, there's a game coming out this fall that's may be better than xbox's halo! It's called KillZone.
I also just tried a demo of lifeline, it worked perfectly at first, then I tried it again, and I coulded even get passed the tutorial.

Metal Gear Solid News
There are two new Metal Gear Solid games on the horizon. MGS3: Snake Eater and MGS: The Twin Snakes. Snake Eater is the PS2 game scheduled to be released in November 2004. Like the other games in the series the gameplay revolves around stealth and espionage but with several big differences. The biggest probably is that it takes place in the jungle. Apparently it is based on a real-life jungle but no one working on the game will say where exactly. Another is taht it takes place in the 60's. But how could this be? That man in the screenshots looks like Snake, but he wasn't born until the 70's. If you've played the other MGS games, you've probably put two and two together and realized that this is in fact Big Boss, the super soldier whose DNA was used to clone Snake. This game has a very original concept, where the harsh environment can be a bigger threat than the enemy soldiers. A big part of the game is keeping yourself alive by avoiding vicous jungle animals, toughing out extreme weather conditions and finding and cooking your own food including snakes (hence the name Snake Eater). Hideo Kojima, the director of the series, annouced that this will be his final MGS game, now where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, thats what he said about MGS2. He however did not entirely rule out the possibility of a fourth game in the series, but was very insistent about moving on to other things. Personally, I have high hopes for this game. It has some good ideas, a great development team and even the early screenshots are impressive. Hopefully, it will also clear up the ending of MGS2 for those of us that are still confused.
The second game is Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes which is planned for the Gamecube this May. It is a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid which was released for the original Playstation in 1998. It was an incredible new game with a fresh concept and still holds up as a good game by todays standards. The development company: Silicone Knight has taken the game and given it a total makeover. With better graphics, new moves, better AI and totally redone cutscenes, it is sure to be superior to the already excelent original. Even if you have played the original version of the game, it is still worth checking out and if you are a Gamecube owner who has been deprived of this magnificent series for all these years, its abou time you discover this gaming masterpiece.

Resident Evil 4 (Gamecube)
Thats right, another one, and if you are anything like me you are wondering how much longer they can keep it up. If that is how you think, GREAT NEWS! Producer, Hiroyuki Kobayashi, and director, Shinji Mikami, have given the series a much needed tweaking. One of the most noticable differences is the new camera which will calm the storm of people still ranting about the cinematic camera in the previous Resident Evil games. The camera is now the more standard over the shoulder view with the ability to switch to a first person perspective. This a also greatly improves your ability to aim which has been put to good use. You can now shoot out specific body parts on the enemies like the knees to slow them down, in the head for a quick kill, or even the ability to shoot their weapon right out of their hands.
The enemies in this game are something new, not quite human, but not zombies either. The developers are keeping quiet about these strange new creatures and how they came to be, but it is apparent that they are quite clever, unlike they slow sluggish, dim-witted zombies. We do know however that the man fighting them is Leon S. Kennedy, thats right, the one from the other Resident Evils. He is one of the things that has stayed the same. Leon however, comes with his own little bag of tricks thanks to the very useful A button. It is now context sensitive allowing you to perform such feats as jumping through a window, blocking a door with a table, pushing a bookcase in from of window, climbing a ladder or knocking one down. There are so many useful things that little green button can do, you'll wonder how you could go without it for so long. The game is planned to hit stores sometime this fall, I reccomend you take that time to do as Mr. Kobayashi says and "forget everything you know about [Resident Evil]" because this game will change the way you look at survival horror games.
