Sniff. The games of the Past.
old_mario.gif

This is for all those old games no one talks about anymore: The SNES, The NES, Sega Genesis, Midway, Atari, Taito and Konami. Sure, they make great games today, but they made greater ones in the past. Consider this section a memorial to all those games that are close to my heart. (mitch)

WRATH OF THE BLACK MANTA

The name may seem stupid, and the idea of a side scrolling ninja game might seem dumb, but don't take this game for granted. It was published by Taito and Nintendo some 20 years ago. I played it at my Uncles House 5 years ago, and I can beat it with my eyes closed in a half hour. The story is awesome: Kids in New York are being kidnapped by a gang to test drugs on. It's your job to kick some gang ass! This game has everything: Ninja Stars, Invisibility, Fire Balls, Katana (swords) Teleportation, Flying Carpets, Lightning, Fire Rain, Shadow techniques and of course ninja ass kicking. It has 5 pretty long levels, and they are all action packed, with a ton of stuff to find. The AI generally sucks, but it's still fun to take on a legion of gang members.

Like most of the games of the past, they had bosses at the end of each level, which are awesome: The first boss, Tiny, is a HUGE giant! He's awesome! You have to hit him on the head, avoiding bricks and him at the same time! All the bosses are great, except the last one, who gets annoying. You have to hit him in a specific order to kill him, and if you screw up, it hurts you. It will take some time to do this though, and I hope you are ready for some sweet ninja action. HI-YA!

Classic Gaming: Saving Kids in a Ninja Outfit.

I wrote this page because frankly the games of yesterday were way harder, more fun and simple. These games were being developped every other day, and almost all of them ruled! I want to thank my Uncle Mark, because he was the one who went out with me in the freezing cold to rent a Sega Genesis or a Super Nintendo, and he played all the games I still love today. You Rule Mark! (UM, if you read this, look at the next picture. Remember this? mitch)

Remember the Time Travelling Telephones? The people who chased you and put you in jail for no reason? The exploding text books? The music that made every one dance, than chase you? The almost impossible to find artifacts? The almost impossible to use speech controller? Yeah. That was one hell of a great game.
